Hina - The 2026-2035 Strategy for the Management of Real Estate and Movable Assets, which the Government has submitted to Parliament for adoption, aims to ensure more efficient and transparent use of state-owned property in support of economic development, local communities and public needs.

"The main objective is to activate unused state property and transform it into a resource for development projects, investment, social infrastructure and economic growth, while simultaneously reducing the inactive portfolio of state assets," said Minister of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets Branko Bačić at a government session on Wednesday.

By 2035, the plan foresees activating 60% of all strategic properties, increasing the utilisation of non-strategic assets, reducing the use of privately rented premises for state administration needs, and raising the value of disposals of confiscated movable assets from €5 million to €7.5 million annually, the minister noted.

"The financial impact of the strategy is positive. The estimated costs of implementation amount to €233 million, while projected revenues following implementation are expected to reach €1.23 billion," Bačić said, adding that the strategy forms part of a broader reform of state asset management.
