Hina - The government has granted the city of Velika Gorica 51.6 hectares of state-owned land worth €31.6 million for the development of the Kušanec-Istok business zone, with State Assets Minister Branko Bačić saying on Friday the project would further boost economic growth and job creation.

Bačić and Mayor Krešimir Ačkar signed an agreement transferring the state-owned property for the development of the city’s third entrepreneurial zone.

The new zone is planned due to near-full occupancy in the existing Rakitovec and Vukovinsko Polje business zones.

Bačić said the project would further support the development of Velika Gorica, which has seen strong growth in recent years. He added the city would also begin work on a new spatial development plan, including areas designated for affordable housing, after which the state and the city would begin constructing new residential units.
