On 15 September 2019, at the premises of the Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning, the first round of assessment of entries submitted for the Ždrijac settlement in Nin was held. The entries for the preparation of the conceptual urban planning and architectural design for the site of the Ždrijac settlement in Nin were received under the international urban planning and architectural competition announced by the Ministry in March 2019.
The competition was launched within the framework of the international Europan platform, within which architectural and urban planning competitions have been carried out for 30 years now, providing an opportunity to young architects to get affirmation on the European scene.
Jury members are reputable architects Prof. Leo Modrčin, MSc, Olga Magaš, MSc, Prof. Maruša Zorec, Branimir Medić, Gorica Mehić, Krešimir Damjanović and Dražen Pejković, as well as the journalist and art historian Patricia Kiš and the economist Šime Erlić, Head of the Administrative Department for EU Funds in Zadar.
Substitute jury members are the architects Vladimir Jakovac and Svebor Andrijević, DSc, and the competition secretary is Maja Furlan Zimmermann.
21 projects were submitted for the competition. The jury sessions are to take place two times, in September and in November 2019. The announcement of the competition results shall be on 2 December 2019. Upon publication of the official competition results, an exhibition and public presentation of the projects shall be held.
