During the six-month Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Working group on energy is chaired by representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Energy and representatives of the Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning in roles of deputy chairperson of the Working group and national delegate.
At the first meeting, the Croatian Presidency work programme in the field of energy was presented. The work programme is focused on implementation of the Energy Union and the transition to clean energy with special emphasis on the EU islands.
Also, the European Commission presented its work programme for the upcoming period. Among other, the European Commission highlighted the importance of intense continuation of work on energy renovation of buildings, where it is possible to achieve additional energy savings and a significant reduction in emissions, contributing thereby to the common goals on the entire European Union level.
