The Institute for Spatial Development of the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets is organising the “Landscape, a living environment” conference, which will be held on 10-11 October in Zagreb, Kraš Auditorium, Ravnice 48. The conference marks International Landscape Day of the Council of Europe, and is organised with the support of ESPON, an interregional cooperation programme within the Thematic Action Plan “Perspective for All People and Places”. Applications will be accepted no later than 4 October 2024.
The aim of the conference is to make all stakeholders familiar with the Landscape Framework of the Republic of Croatia, which contains the Methodological Framework and Landscape Atlases at the Macro-Regional and Regional Levels.
The first day of the conference will feature Croatian and foreign speakers, while the major part of the second day will be organised through interactive workshops on specific landscape issues and the development of lower-level landscape frameworks, their use in different sectoral policies, but also on examining the impact of recent European laws on landscape changes (Regulation on Nature Restoration and Directive on Soil Monitoring And Resilience).
The conference is intended for policy makers at all levels, public officials and professionals involved in spatial planning, cultural heritage protection, nature and environment protection, agriculture, forestry, water management, economy, as well as spatial planning architects, landscape architects, other interested professionals, and the general public.
According to the Continuous Professional Development Programme of the Croatian Chamber of Architects, the Conference will be credited with nine (9) academic hours in the areas of:
Area A / Technical regulations - 3 h
Area B / Space - 4 h
Area C / Construction - 2 h
Applications will be received on a first-come-first-serve basis, and at the latest by Friday, 4 October 2024.
