Grant agreements signed on energy renovation of schools in Varaždin county

At a ceremony held at the Elementary school Veliki Bukovec, the minister of construction and physical planning Predrag Štomar, and the acting director of the Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency prof. Ljubomir Majdandžić, PhD, have signed today Grant agreements with beneficiaries under the Call for 'Energy renovation of buildings and use of renewable energy sources in public institutions performing educational activities'. The agreements refer to projects of Energy renovation of the building of elementary school OŠ Franje Serta at the address Ljudevita Gaja 15, Bednja, Energy renovation of the building of Secondary school Novi Marof at the address Zagorska 22, Novi Marof, and Energy renovation of the building of Elementary school Veliki Bukovec at the address Dravska ulica 42, Veliki Bukovec, for a total amount of 9,294,871.90 kuna, out of which grant funds amount to 4,951,962.21 kuna, and funds of the beneficiaries to 4,342,909.69 kuna.
 
To remind, on 22 November 2016 the Call was launched for submission of project proposals for 'Energy renovation of buildings and use of renewable energy sources in public institutions performing educational activities', and was closed for applications on 20 February 2017. The purpose of the Call is implementation of energy efficiency measures and use of renewable energy sources in public sector buildings in which public institutions perform educational activities, which is to result, through an overall energy renovation of buildings, in a reduction of energy consumption for heating/cooling. Under this Call a total amount of funds in the value of 152 000 000 kuna has been foreseen from the ERDF, however due to numerous applications that meet the eligibility criteria, an increase in the allocated amount has been requested and approved by the Management Body. A total of 234 applications where received under this Call, out of which 223 meet the eligibility criteria.
