On 11 and 12 February 2019, representatives of the UfM Thematic Working Group on Affordable and Sustainable Housing paid a two-day working visit to their hosts, the Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning and the Agency for Transactions and Mediation in Immovable Properties (APN).
The visit brought together experts from the field of affordable and sustainable housing from the academic community, the financial and public sector and non-governmental organisations of the Republic of Croatia.
The Union for the Mediterranean is an intergovernmental institution domiciled in Barcelona, which promotes regional cooperation between 43 member countries (28 EU Member States and 15 other countries). Under the Regional Platform on Sustainable Urban Development, the thematic Working Group has the task to adopt with all countries, by the end of 2019, through a number of events and workshops, an Action Plan on Affordable and Sustainable Housing.
Assistant Minister Assist.Prof. Maja-Marija Nahod, Ph.D., M.Sc. CE, is thematic Working Group member at European Union level for the Republic of Croatia.
During the two-day visit, achievements were presented with examples of good programmes, as well as challenges in the further development of sustainable housing in the Republic of Croatia, and close cooperation was agreed in the continuation of the 2019 Action Plan development.
