(Hina) - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Construction Minister Branko Bačić on Friday handed 84 young families in Umag keys to their flats, built as part of a government-subsidised housing construction scheme.

"The government will continue with the policy of housing loan subisidies. I think that housing policy is very important because young families must have state support in resolving their housing problem considering that real estate prices have been growing across the country," said Plenković.

"Government-subsidised housing construction is one of the most successful models of housing construction in Croatia and beyond, with the state, state agencies and local government units acting in synergy with one another. Over the past 21 years that the scheme has been in force, 8,600 flats have been built," said Bačić.
