Call published: “Development of Green Infrastructure in Urban Areas”
On October 13, 2025, the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets published the Call “Development of Green Infrastructure in Urban Areas” under the Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion 2021-2027, specific goal RSO2.7. Enhancing protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution.
The aim of the Call is to encourage the development of green infrastructure in urban areas by supporting the implementation of local-level projects identified in the green urban renewal strategies.Eligible applicants are local self-government units (LSGU) and regional self-government units (RSGU).
The Call is carried out as an open procedure, and it is open on a permanent basis, with a deadline for submitting the project proposals by July 24, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. or until the funds available for the Call have been exhausted. The Call will be suspended for a limited period when the amount of requested grants for the submitted project proposals reaches 150%.
It will be possible to submit project proposals from December 12, 2025, from 12:00 a.m., through the eCohesion information system.
The total available grants amount to 71,000,000.00 euro. The highest percentage of grants per project is 85% of the costs, whereby the lowest value of grants is 200,000.00 euro and the highest 4,500,000.00 euro.
The Call cofinances the following activities: green urban renewal strategies, project and other necessary documentation, project implementation (development and/or construction of green infrastructure, expert supervision and designer supervision and/or occupational health and safety coordination during construction), project management and administration, promotion and project visibility, horizontal activities and registering green infrastructure in the green infrastructure register.

During the Call, potential applicants will have access to expert support by the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund (EPEEF) - Environmental Protection Sector, and the contact address is: zelena@fzoeu.hr.
In order for all potential applicants to have detailed information on the Call requirements, the Ministry plans to hold several informative workshops; all the information will be posted on the Ministry’s website and in the eCohesion system.
