Construction minister signs contracts for 43 apartments for young families
Hina - Minister of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets Branko Bačić signed contracts in Split on Friday that will provide 43 young families with apartments in two towns and two municipalities of Split-Dalmatia County, as part of a project worth €5.4 million.
Minister Bačić and Split-Dalmatia County Prefect Blaženko Boban signed an interdepartmental cooperation agreement for the implementation of the Programme for the Construction and Renovation of State-Owned Housing Units in Assisted Areas. The initiative targets housing for young individuals and families in the towns of Vrlika and Trilj and the municipalities of Cista Provo and Gradac. Four multi-apartment buildings will be constructed, comprising a total of 43 apartments worth approximately €5.4 million.
The government will build the apartments, while local authorities will provide all necessary utility infrastructure and exempt the construction agency from paying the infrastructure fee. This will make it possible to build the apartments at the lowest possible cost.
The rent for these apartments will be 30 times lower than the average rent in Split-Dalmatia County, offering highly affordable housing. After some time, young residents who continue to live and work there will have the option to purchase the apartments at very favourable prices, Bačić said.
