Croatian gov't helping Croats stay in BiH by financing projects, says Bačić
(Hina) - Croatian Physical Planning, Construction, and State Assets Minister Branko Bačić signed contracts worth €2.5 million with 119 beneficiaries in Vitez, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Thursday, emphasising the strategic importance of this support for the Croatian community in BiH.
"Our government's lasting commitment is to support the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina through numerous projects, enabling them to stay here by fostering economic activities and developing communal, transport, energy, social, and public infrastructure," Bačić said.He highlighted that €100 million has been allocated from the Croatian state budget this year alone for projects benefiting Croats in BiH.
Dragan Čović, president of the HDZ BiH party, expressed gratitude to Zagreb for its continuous support, underscoring the importance of strategic investments in preserving the Croatian identity in BiH. "In the past eight years, the Croatian government has invested in infrastructure, culture, education, and healthcare, with total investments amounting to approximately €400 million."
