Institute for Spatial Development participated in MLUMSE project meeting in Agadir

A combined meeting of the project Modernization of Land and Urban Management Education in Southern Mediterranean (MLUMSE) was held from November 25 to 27, 2025, in Agadir, the Kingdom of Morocco. Sector Advisor at the Institute for Spatial Development Robert Paj participated as the representative of the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets.

The MLUMSE project is financed through the European Union programme for supporting education, training, the youth and sports in Europe: Erasmus+. Apart from the Ministry and the University of Zagreb, universities from the Netherlands, Belgium, Morocco, Jordan and Egypt also take part in the project. Through the project, EU universities help countries of Southern Mediterranean build and improve their higher education in the field of spatial planning and land management.

The main project goals are strengthening the capacity of institutions and improving their quality, innovative acquisition of knowledge and skills, enhanced lesson plans and programmes at partner universities, better visibility of higher education institutions in the society, networking and cooperation with stakeholders and partners at the national and international levels.

The meeting was hosted by the Faculty of Natural Science and Mathematics, University of Ibn Zohr, in Agadir, and it was opened by Dean El Hassan Nachit. The three-day programme included preparatory meetings, stakeholder round table, project curricula presentation, student training, project management workshops, Morocco stakeholders meeting and the 6th regular meeting of the project’s Management Board.

Along with participating in other events, representative of the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets Robert Paj also took part in the project’s Management Board and, together with Assoc. Prof. Vesna Poslončec-Petrić from the Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb, gave a presentation for students called “Digital Technologies in Modern Urban and Land Planning and Management.”
