On Monday, November 24, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets Branko Bačić held a meeting with Minister of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning Jože Novak in the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets.

In a cordial and productive conversation, the ministers discussed a series of topics of mutual interest, with a special emphasis on developing border areas and improving bilateral cooperation in the field of spatial planning. Both sides highlighted the significant potential for further strengthening cross-border cooperation through joint projects and coordinated development initiatives.

The meeting also addressed the possibility of a concerted approach to developing spatial plans, as well as the possibility of exchanging experiences in implementing land consolidation in both states and digitalising spatial planning and construction processes, where both states develop their own information monitoring systems. Special attention was paid to planning infrastructural projects of state significance, where close cooperation can accelerate implementation and ensure added value for communities on both sides of the border.

During the meeting, they exchanged information on the challenges related to climate change and the consequences of natural disasters, such as floods and earthquakes, and discussed effective approaches to their management in both states.

The meeting was extremely pleasant, and the ministers expressed joint willingness to continue cooperation and take further action focused on sustainable development of border areas and strengthening of the overall relationship between the Republic od Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia.
