(Hina) - The reconstruction of the Zagreb-based Faculty of Teacher Education, a project worth €23 million, will be finished in 2025, and the projects of the reconstruction of the Sisters of Charity hospital and its buildings and some other state-owned buildings in Zagreb are going as planned.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Tuesday visited the reconstruction sites to get an insight in the process.

The Sisters of Charity hospital (KBC Sestre Milosrdnice in the Croatian language) and other clinics belonging to this medical university centre were damaged in the earthquakes in 2020, and the project of their renovation is estimated at €145 million.

The completion of rebuilding and structural retrofitting of the three hospital buildings in Zagreb is expected in late 2025 or in early 2026.

Health Minister Vili Beroš said that investing in KBC Sestre Milosrdnice was the second biggest individual investment in the public healthcare infrastructure.

Plenković today toured the reconstruction site of a state-owned building in Gundulićeva Street. The project of its renovation costs €40 million and will be over in the next 18 months.

Construction and State Assets Minister Branko Bačić said that the post-quake reconstruction programme encompasses 600 projects of the renovation of buildings in the public sector. The implementation has so far cost €980 million, and funds have been ensured from the EU Solidarity Fund and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
