Seven new contracts signed on energy renovation of public educational institutions

Minister of Construction and Physical Planning Lovro Kuščević signed seven new Grant award contracts under the Pilot Calls for energy renovation of public educational institutions: five Contracts on design  documentation development for energy renovation of Elementary school Lipik in Lipik, Elementary school Mato Lovrak in Kutina (phase 1A) and Elementary school Mato Lovrak in Kutina (phase 1B), Nursery school Cvrčak in Virovitica and Elementary school S. Kefelje in Kutina,  whilst the remaining two Contracts pertain to energy renovation works on Elementary school Sirač in Sirač and Elementary school Vilima Korajca in Kaptol.

Based on these Contracts, grant funds from the European Regional Development Fund and the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund shall be awarded in the total amount of almost 3 million kuna
(2 728 551.95 kuna).

Furthermore, under both Pilot Calls of the Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning, for design  documentation development and for energy renovation works, almost 60 million kuna shall be awarded from the European Regional Development Fund and the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund.

By these projects of energy renovation and use of renewable energy sources, energy savings and CO2 emission reductions from 20% to 80% are envisaged, specifically through implementation of measures for enhanced envelope thermal protection, mechanical and electrical engineering measures, and through introduction of renewable energy sources.

It is noteworthy that under both published calls almost 400 design proposals were received - to date, 104 Financing decisions have been adopted, as well as 85 Grant award contracts signed, pursuant to which about 39 million kuna from the European Regional Development Fund and the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund shall be disbursed to beneficiaries.

Under the said Pilot Calls by our Ministry, about 80 nursery, elementary and secondary schools as well as pupils’ halls of residence shall develop design documentation for the energy renovation of their buildings, and for this purpose they will be awarded 100% grant funds in the total amount of 9.5 million kuna. Furthermore, for about 30 public educational institutions, energy renovation works shall be co-financed with 70 to 95% of grant funds, depending on the development index, in the total amount of 50 million kuna.
