Signing of contract for Vjesnik demolition postponed due to appeals
The signing of contract for the design and demolition of Zagreb’s Vjesnik skyscraper, which was damaged by the fire on the night of November 17-18, 2025, has been postponed after two Zagreb-based companies, V.D.M. PROMET d.o.o. and JONING d.o.o., filed appeals against the decision by the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets to select EURCO d.o.o. from Vinkovci to carry out the project.
The appeals were received through the Electronic Public Procurement Classifieds. Pursuant to Article 422 of the Public Procurement Act, filing an appeal against the Decision on the selection prevents the signing of the public procurement contract until the appeal process has been completed.Pursuant to Article 432 of the Public Procurement Act, the State Commission for the Supervision of Public Procurement Procedures shall issue a decision within 30 days of receiving a valid appeal.
Upon the State Commission's decision, the Ministry will act in accordance with its ruling.
