On Tuesday, 14 March 2023, State Secretary Dunja Magaš received on inaugural visit the Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Ruaidhri Dowling wishing him a welcome, a successful mandate, and a happy Saint Patrick's Day – the day of the patron saint of Ireland.

At the next meeting held on 16 March 2023, the Ambassador was joined by the Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage of the Republic of Ireland, Mr Kieran O'Donnell.

Both sides reaffirmed very good and friendly bilateral relations between the two countries and exchanged views on current topics, notably on the issue of housing.

Minister of State O'Donnel highlighted the housing crisis as one of the main challenges due to the large influx of people to Ireland, and presented the social housing construction programme, while State Secretary Magaš informed him of the results of the programme of state-subsidised housing construction and subsidisation of housing loans for young people and young families in Croatia.

In conclusion, both sides confirmed their readiness to further cooperation and dialogue in the mentioned topics of interest, as well as to expert knowledge and experience exchange, especially at the level of the expert services of both institutions.
