Video: Building managers and tenants experience after the energy renovation of their residential buildings

Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning, as Intermediate body level 1, has published the Call for energy renovation of multi-apartment buildings in 2016 within the framework of Operative Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion. Total allocation for energy renovation of the residential building sector is € 100 million, and grants include resources from ESI funds, European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to be precise.

Sector for Energy Efficiency of the Environmental ProtectionSector for Energy Efficiency of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund offered technical assistance to applicants during the application process, while Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, as the Intermediate body level 2, guided the beneficiaries through the residential building energy renovation projects.

Residential building energy renovation projects bring many benefits for the tenants, but also for the environment. Annual energy savings reduce CO2 emissions which contribute to sustainable development, increase the quality of living of tenants and allow for a more comfortable stay in the renovated building.

The Call for energy renovation of residential buildings resulted in contracts for 584 energy renovation projects. Works are currently being carried out on 22 buildings, while 519 of them are finished. The total value of projects amounts to over a HRK billion, while the ERDF grants amount to over HRK 554 million. Energy renovation covers over 16,000 households, average annual energy savings are over 67%, and the most frequent shift is from energy class E to B, resulting in a more comfortable stay for all tenants.
