Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning, as Intermediate body level 1, has published the Call for energy renovation of multi-apartment buildings in 2016 within the framework of Operative Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion. Total allocation for energy renovation of the residential building sector is € 100 million, and grants include resources from ESI funds, European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to be precise.

Abu Dhabi hosted the Tenth World Urban Forum (WUF10) organized by UN-HABITAT from 8 to 13 February 2020, and this was also the first time that the World Urban Forum was hosted by a Middle East country. The World Urban Forum is a platform for international gathering and exchange of experiences and views on sustainable urbanisation and possible consequences for urban development in general.

The Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning disseminates, on a monthly basis, by e-mail and by publication on the Ministry's website, its newsletter (Novosti) - bringing topical events and issues related to energy renovation of buildings co-financed from European Structural and Investment Funds.

4th Cities Forum, as the main event under the auspices of the European Commission, is being held today and tomorrow in Porto, and its main theme is the joint formation of a sustainable future for cities. The forum brings together key stakeholders from the European, national and local levels in order to make a cross-section of achievements and look at future directions of urban development within the framework of cohesion policy.

As part of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Zagreb hosted, on 21 and 22 of January 2020, first two informal meetings of technical working groups which were organized by Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning, discussing and preparing the revision of Territorial Agenda 2020 and Urban Agenda for EU.

As part of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the first meeting of the Working group on energy was held in Brussels last week. The Working group programme is focused on implementation of the Energy Union and transition to clean energy.

Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning published the publication ‘An Overview of the Real Estate Market of the Republic of Croatia 2018ʽ. It is the second edition of the publication, which is published by the MCPP in cooperation with the Institute of Economics, Zagreb (EIZ). The first edition of An Overview of the Real Estate Market of the Republic of Croatia was published in September 2018. It covered the period from 2012 to 2017.

Heads of Sectors in Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning Ines Androić Brajčić and Irena Križ Šelendić received Annual awards for Green Building and Sustainable Development in Person of the Year for 2019 category, honoring people acclaimed in promoting green building and sustainable development.

Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning expert team designed and made the brochure on energy renovation of public and residential buildings, and our basic idea was to highlight successful energy renovation projects within our two Calls, “Energy renovation of multi-apartment buildings” and “Energy renovation of buildings and use of renewable energy sources in public institutions performing educational activities”.

Under the Call for energy renovation and use of RES in public sector buildings a total of 550 Agreements are signed with their value reaching over HRK 2,32 billion, while grants amount to over HRK 1,14 billion.
