Once again Croatia is celebrating May 9, Europe Day, and central event took place at the European square in Zagreb, organized together by the Commission representation office in Croatia and the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds.

The delegation of the Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning (MCPP) headed by Assistant Minister Assist.Prof. Maja-Marija Nahod, Ph.D., M.Sc.CE, participated from 4 to 6 June 2019 at the meeting of The Concerted Action on the Energy Performance Buildings Directive (CA EPBD V) in Riga.

The MCPP delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Predrag Štromar met with World Bank Group Executive Director Koen Davidse and associates, with whom the cooperation to date and the future cooperation of MCPP with the World Bank was discussed on the topics of energy efficiency in the buildings sector, green infrastructure, the Doing Business Ranking, and the Justice for Business project.

At the expert MCPP Conference named “Successes & challenges in energy renovation of buildings in Croatia” successful results and examples of good practice were presented from published Calls for energy renovation of public buildings in Croatia, financed out of ESI funds, all attended by representatives from bodies in the ESI funds management system, successful applicants and distinguished guests. 

On April 29, 2019, the Third open stakeholder dialogue was held at the Hotel International in Zagreb, focusing on modern solutions and rules of fire safety and protection against intense seismic activity risks, that should be applied during the energy renovation of buildings. As a part of this event, the joining-in of new stakeholders continued by their signing of the Charter on co-operation towards decarbonised building stock by 2050.

The National Development Strategy 2030 (NDS 2030) shall be the highest long-term strategic planning act that shall determine the development directions and strategic objectives of the Republic of Croatia until 2030. The vision of 'Croatia, the way we want it' by 2030 shall be realised through implementation of selected structural reforms and strategic projects within defined essential fields for intervention.
