Once again Croatia is celebrating May 9, Europe Day, and central event took place at the European square in Zagreb, organized together by the Commission representation office in Croatia and the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds.

The National Development Strategy 2030 (NDS 2030) shall be the highest long-term strategic planning act that shall determine the development directions and strategic objectives of the Republic of Croatia until 2030. The vision of 'Croatia, the way we want it' by 2030 shall be realised through implementation of selected structural reforms and strategic projects within defined essential fields for intervention.

After the Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning (MCPP), in its capacity of Intermediate Body Level 1, has requested on 1 March 2019 from the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds (MRDEUF), as the Management Body under the Operational Programme “Competitiveness and Cohesion”, to approve an increase of the allocation under the Call for energy renovation of public sector buildings, the total available grant amount from the ERDF was approved on 11 March 2019.  

From 14 to 16 March 2019, the Spanish city of Seville hosted the 22nd Council of Europe Meeting of the Workshops for the implementation of the Council of Europe Landscape Convention on “Water, landscape and citizenship in the face of global change”. The Ministry delegation was headed by Assistant Minister Sanja Šaban, and in the programme participated also delegation members Lidija Škec and Ingrid Gojević from the Institute for Spatial Development.

On 11 and 12 February 2019, representatives of the UfM Thematic Working Group on Affordable and Sustainable Housing paid a two-day working visit to their hosts, the Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning and the Agency for Transactions and Mediation in Immovable Properties (APN).

Representatives of the MCPP Ines Androić Brajčić, Head of Sector, and Sandra Momčilović, Head of Service, have participated at the Business for Smart Cities Expocongress, hosted by the city of Kiev, Ukraine.

Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning hosted the ESPON workshop on the Case Study “Croatian Coast and Islands” as part of the “Maritime Spatial Planning and Land-Sea Interactions” project. ESPON Cooperation programme is implemented through four Specific Objectives, and Targeted Analysis are one of the means to implement Specific Objective 2 - “Upgraded knowledge transfer and use of analytical user support”.
